GEOG 101 – Physical Geography

Fieldwork at Honey Lake, CA, c. 2003

Physical geography is the study of Earth’s spatial relationships between its natural systems. This course covers the mechanics behind atmospheric, hydrological, geological, and biological processes on the planet and then explores the connections between them. While the course focuses on natural aspects of the Earth, nature’s connections to humanity are always discussed. Climate change and the Anthropocene are a major focus of the course as well.
